Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of the Big Five conservancies, is renowned for its conservation efforts and is located in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Sudan, the last male northern white rhino of the subspecies, passed away there in 2018. The final females of the subspecies continue to dwell at Ol Pejeta, where they are constantly protected. The Laikipia reserve also houses the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which houses chimpanzees rescued from the illicit market. Ol Pejeta, one of the most fascinating tourist destinations in Kenya, is a perfect site to learn about the interaction between humans and wildlife as well as the difficulties faced by the conservation sector. Come for the day or stay longer to experience night drives, bush walks, and lion tracking.
